This page includes new items that I am working on to see if they are
feasible to make and to see if there is any interest to purchase. It also has work that I was consigned to do by patrons. "One-offs" that I did to explore my boundries. I am constantly experimenting. Feedback is always welcome. Click on any image to enlarge. For more views of these pieces as well as others, please visit my Flickr albums. Handmade from Walnut and maple, these hold about 10-12 cards. Judy's daughter Tabitha lives in New York and they miss each other so much. The will be two pendants. One for Mom, one for her daughter. To sell, I would have to get $30.00 for the set.
Coin Fobs
My wife and I have collected a veritable treasure in beautiful, yet probably worthless coins from around the world. Instead of researching each one, we are experimenting with incorporating them into "object d'art". The fob you see in the following photo and in my Flickr album is a 5 Peso coin from Mexico set into a Rosewood holder. It measures 1/4" by 1 3/8" by 1 3/4". I drilled a 1/8" hole though the top for a loop, strap or band to be installed. This is the problem I am working out now. Any suggestions? Flickr Link Box #111 - A friend of ours, a rock hound, ran across a bunch of genuine gemstone tile samples, all different. Beautiful precious stones arranged intarsia style and applied to a ceramic tile substrate. He also had some mesquite wood
that he had been storing for some time. A couple weeks ago, he asked me
if I could do anything with the lot of it. This is the result.
The primary wood is mesquite. The tile is black onyx and abalone. I backed the tile with eucalyptus that would show on the inside of the lid. The lid is hinged with brass rod. The joints are pegged with bamboo. The size is approximately 3 x 3 x 6". The finish is linseed oil and wax. SOLD
Box #112 - Here is the second of the series. The tile is tiger eye, black onyx and jasper. For the rest of the description, see above.
SOLD
Ring Boxes #106 - 110 A
series of five special boxes to house your unique rings. The main
bodies of the boxes are aspen wood. The banding and interior of the lid
is inlaid zebrawood. The front and back of each box is veneered with
eucalyptus wood. The size of each box is approximately 2 x 2 x 2.25". The interior of the ring compartment is 1.5" diameter.
Sold
Shot Glass Display - I was consigned to do this piece for some friends of mine. The main case is oak and the trim and miter keys are zebrawood. I liked the flatsawn figure of the zebrawood and used the natural warp of the board to my advantage, splaying the two bookmatched stiles upwards and outwards. The shelve’s trim are quartersawn from the same piece. The finish is linseed oil, then three thinned coats of polyurethane, then Trewax The unit measures approximately 18 x 32 x 4”. It is hung with a french cleat.

Box #104 - The main case of this box is aspen, I used rosewood for
the hinges, miter keys and the lid lifter. The top is from a piece of unknown
trunk wood burl from our yard. It measures 8 1/4 × 9 1/4 × 3 3/4”. The finish is 5 thinned coats of polyurethane, then waxed. SOLD
Box #103 - The body of this box is poplar. The hinges, lid lifter and feet are zebrawood. The lid is of an unidentified trunk wood burl I sliced from an old stump in our yard. It measures 6 x 7 x 3". I finished the box in linseed oil, polyurethane and wax. SOLD
